Subject: GPS Moving & Storage Co.

In December of 2018 I contracted with GPS to move my belongings from Long Beach, CA to Knoxville, TN in an anticipated Spring move. My contacts were Avi, who came up to Long Beach to conduct an initial inspection and inventory of all household items. My next contacts were with Eileen and ultimately, Tammy, who worked closely with me to massage the inventory list as time wore on.

It should be noted that we packed 169 boxes of various sizes to keep the cost in check.

These folks were extremely helpful, explaining the process and the cost of each procedure and its effect on the total cost of the move. As it turned out, our move was accelerated by the sale of two homes and a wedding and the planned move date was moved up to 06 March 2018. This was a blessing in disguise for us.

GPS had their team of packers at the house at 0800 on Wednesday, 06 March 2019. A box truck arrived and began unloading all of their necessary packing materials, then the packing team arrived, five young men who wasted no time getting started. They went through the house methodically wrapping and prestaging all the furniture for the eventual load out to the moving van.

These fellows were very courteous and methodical, knowing exactly how and what to wrap to properly protect each item. To my amazement, they were completely finished at 1345. I did a final walk through to ensure no items were left behind and then locked the door and drove off to Knoxville, TN following these folks until they turned off for San Diego. The van driver, Norberto, gave me a mover’s manifest of all the items loaded into the van. We exchange telephone numbers and said we would connect in Knoxville, TN on12 March 2019.

Once in Knoxville, I received a call from Norberto saying he would be delayed until Thursday, 14 March 2019 due to an unload of a prior customer. No problem. On 14 March, the van arrived at 0800 with Norberto making preparations to unload as soon as the crew arrived. By 0830, the crew were in full swing, moving furniture and boxes from the van to the house. They reassembled beds and placed every item in their respective rooms. We used a color-coded floor plan to facilitate locating everything. It worked out great. This team of three movers were no nonsense folks who also knew what they were doing. They completed the unloading and setting up at approximately 1530.

To sum up, this was a very satisfying move. Breakage or damage was limited to five items that could be replaced. I would recommend GPS moving and Storage to everyone. Their honest and up-front method of costing the job provides for no surprises. This was a two thousand-mile move that went smoothly.

Thank you Avi, Tammy, Eileen and Norberto.

Sincerely,

Paul W.
